Handcuffs. You want to have handcuffs, doesn’t matter if you have the starter or not. Sure, if you’re desperate for an RB to play this week, obviously, you’ll have to go with someone who actually plays. However if you’re set at RB for the moment, stock up on the handcuff RBs for the playoffs. No need to carry five WRs or low-upside bench RBs anymore. And yes, I like Deangelo Williams, Alfred Morris, Derrick Henry, and Mike Gillislee over Adrian Peterson. I get the intrigue of Peterson if he comes back, but it’s not like he was crushing it before the injury, and the Minnesota offensive line has only gotten worse since the beginning of the season. Also, there’s the chance Peterson just doesn’t come back at all.
Melvin Gordon (Hip) – Left game did not return, will have MRI Monday.
Matt Forte (Knee) – Left game did not return, will have MRI Monday.
Shane Vereen (Concussion) – Must pass protocol in order to play Week 15.
Darren Sproles (Concussion) – Must pass protocol in order to play Week 15.
Theo Riddick (Wrist) – Did not play Week 14.
Ameer Abdullah (Foot) – Still on IR. Abdullah may return this season.
Chris Ivory (Hamstring) – Did not play Week 14.
Denard Robinson (Ankle) – Did not play Week 14.
Adrian Peterson (Knee) – Aiming to come back this week against the Colts. If Vikings fall out of playoff mix, and the team won’t give him contract assurances, we likely won’t see him on the field again this season.
