Analyst's Select Week 1 College Football Picks

Welcome back to another college football season. Last season was very successful picking games, and I will once again be bringing you my favorite picks each and every week. Enjoy the full slate of games throughout the weekend that includes two top-25 match-up with Boise State vs. Michigan State Friday and Michigan vs. Alabama in Cowboys Stadium. The weekend ends with Louisville vs. Kentucky on Sunday and Georgia Tech vs. Virginia Tech on Monday. Check out my first three picks of the season below, one is free and the other two is only visible for members. So members, sign in now!

FREE PICK! Washington State +12 vs. BYU

Washington State is still lacking talent overall, but the one thing Mike Leach can do is coach offense, and mask player deficiencies by schemes. That papering over of problems doesn’t work against the best teams in the country, but that isn’t the case in this game with BYU. Our sims only project Wazzu to score 22 points, but I would expect more than that. Both Jeff Tuel and Connor Halliday showed talent at quarterback, and receiver Marquess Wilson is All-American caliber. BYU actually isn’t that deep with offensive playmakers, and in my opinion would have to score 40+ points to cover this spread. I don’t think quarterback Riley Nelson and his crew is up to that task in the first game of the year.
