Only one favorite in Finnish Liiga - any surprises on the way?

The Finnish elite ice hockey league, Liiga, has finally reached its proper post-season after the wild card round – and a week long wait for the other six teams.

During the regular season we witnessed both remarkable positive surprises and massive disappointments, notably last year’s finalist HIFK succumbing all the way to the wild card round. They did prevail though, and might be up for a resurgent playoff-run after finding their long lost desperation for winning. On the other hand, several teams doomed to miss post-season altogether, such as KalPa, HPK and Pelicans were the positives and made it to playoffs in top six.

The regular season's no.1 was, by a country mile, last year's champions Tappara, who seemed unstoppable at times while even getting stronger during the season by acquisitions such as last season's top scorer Kristian Kuusela. Will there be anyone to match Tappara's domination this spring?
